The Var coast is an invitation to rest and relax. You will discover many charming beaches and creeks in Hyères, La Londe-Les-Maures, Bormes-Les-Mimosas, Saint-Tropez, Bandol and, of course in Le Lavandou. Le Lavandou is an authentic fishermen’s village with 12 beautiful fine sand beaches, among which Saint-Clair beach where our four-star hotel is located. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in France !

You can’t stay on the Var coast without going to the Iles d’Or, the local islands : Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Ile du Levant. These islands are accessible by boat via a direct access from Le Lavandou harbor. 

Hikers will be delighted to walk along the coast paths. Nature lovers will enjoy to visit the tropical birds garden in La Londe as well as Domaine du Rayol. A submarine exploration vessel, called Seascope, will allow you to discover the mediterranean fauna and flora. If you are a gourmet, you will enjoy Var wines, honey from Provence, and of course local olive oil ! For the sport lovers, there are different activities such as water sports or renting bikes to discover the region.

Les Iles d’or (local islands)

 

Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Levant islands have a worldwide reputation for their breathtaking beauty. Port-Cros, part of the National Park, is a reserve of exceptional fauna and flora both on land and under the sea. Levant island with its dense and unique vegetation, is a paradise for naturists. At last but not least, Porquerolles is well-known for its amazing beaches such as Plage d’Argent.

The Painters’ Path

 

‘Chemin des Peintres’ is a walk tracing back neo-impressionism period. Some famous painters and writers lived or stayed in Saint-Clair area in Le Lavandou. You will walk in these artists’ footsteps. All along your walk, you will admire the reproductions of their works of art with information and explanations on signs posted along the way. A guided tour is organized in summer. 

Le Domaine du Rayol

 

Domaine du Rayol is an amazing landscaped garden belonging to the French Coastal Nature Conservancy (‘Conservatoire du Littoral’). You will discover all the mediterranean climate vegetation species but also others from Australia, Chile, Argentina, Mexico and more… Domaine du Rayol is an invitation to enjoy the plant world and travel throughout the garden alleys with a botanist or on your own.

Visit of the Fort de Brégançon in Bormes

 

The Fort de Bregançon in Bormes-Les-Mimosas is open to the public in summer. This thieves and pirates landmark on a small peninsula became the President of the Republic’s offical residence from 1968 to 2012. Enjoy your trip to Bormes-Les-Mimosas to discover this medieval village which has kept its authenticity. 

Visiting Saint-Tropez

 

Going to Saint-Tropez, the famous sea-side resort, is a 45 minute drive via D559 road. Discover its harbour, its amazing yachts, its citadelle, its provencal market, L’Annonciade museum, its picturesque narrow streets, the famous Place des Lices and the restaurants…Saint-Tropez is beyond being a glamourous village, so come and discover its treasures and its authenticity.
